Nervy Negativityoh my. the c division had their semis today.
and what a day it was.
for the first time in a long long time, we meet acsi in the semis.
i do remember in the last 10 years there has been once that we got a bronze.
so that means that we've lost a group stage match before.
but in recent years we've always breezed through that stage--but not so this time.
we lost to acs barker because of a mess up in line up.
some one was sick so we had to change our line up.
and sadly we lost.
and so for the first time we meet acsi in the semis.
i guess it was not that bad.
we kinda expected ourselves to beat acsi because they do have good sec 1 imports this year.
where as we have 4. so it was huge boost.
and the thought about beating acsi in the semis (semis, mind you, not finals) was really enticing.
they gave the b div a 5-0 thrashing and a silver. we obviously would like to give them whatever we could--a 3rd or possibly 4th?
and so we faced acsi at kallang today. 10th of April 2007 at 2pm.
we started well. leading 1st 2nd singles and 1st doubles.
the first singles and doubles wrapped up quite well.
and pending the 2nd singles, we were waiting for the much anticipated win.
but it takes some time to reach that stage.
sadly, we had to deal with nerves and so went through a rather nervy time.
but it didn't stop there.
it rained. then we waited for it to stop. then we rolled the courts. then we warmed up. then it rained again.
take that and multiply by 2.
oh my. how horrid.
so we were hanging by a thread.
so close to winning...yet so far...
luckily for us. we have the upper hand.
with 3 more matches to go, just 1 more to comfirm our victory, we are up on 2 games and a hugely possible fight back in the 3rd match.
theres a huge possiblity we will and can win those 2 games, and a equal not less opportunity of winning that 3rd.
its really been a really nervy day with no ending yet.
its in sight, but not here.
and in this sport, as with any other, its not over till it really is.
i'm just hoping for the best.
